CHAIRMAN THANKS LEADING LOCAL COMPANY PRESTEC FOR SIX YEARS OF SUPPORT

7 May 2024

BURTON Albion Chairman Ben Robinson has thanked leading local company Prestec UK as they come to the end of six seasons as front-of-shirt sponsors.

Prestec’s logo first appeared on the Brewers kit in the 2018/19 season and the company’s sponsorship has also incorporated the Academy and Burton Albion Community Trust.

The club and Prestec’s shared values and commitment to the community has resulted in a valuable partnership. The partnership will continue, with Prestec continuing to support the Academy and Community Trust going forward.

Ben Robinson said: “I want to thank David and Alyson Hewlett and everyone at Prestec for their whole-hearted commitment to Burton Albion and all we represent in the community.

“Their support has enabled us to deliver in the community especially during the pandemic where they stayed with us as the games were shown behind closed doors and the support of our sponsors enabled us to deliver the ground-breaking Pirelli Stadium Vaccination Centre.

“Being connected with the powerful brand of EFL football and Burton Albion also brings great exposure to our sponsors such as when the Pestec name was seen by a worldwide TV audience when we played Manchester City over two legs in the Carabao Cup semi-final.

“It has been a brilliant partnership which I’m sure will highlight to other local businesses the benefits of being a Burton Albion commercial partner."

Prestec director David Hewlett said: “We began our sponsorship with BAFC, due to the club’s work in the community and relentless drive to improve well-being in all areas within the club’s reach.

“Initially it began with Lewis Chambers working for the Academy on player development and helping with the mental strengths needed in the game, particularly for youngsters experiencing playing and training with a professional football club.

“We sponsored Lewis’s wages at the end of his tenure to maintain his role in the Academy and this proved most successful for Lewis, gaining a career offer in Dubai, which has led to a whole new world opening up for him, all thanks to his credentials gained with BAFC.

“The club really is an iconic foundation of opportunity for Burton on Trent, which is all thanks to Ben and family, plus his loyal staff, who make reality out of dreams. As always, it’s been a privilege to be associated with the club.”
